Title

An Ordinance to amend Section 47.32 (c) of the Milwaukee County Code of General Ordinances relating to updated fees charged at the County Zoo in accordance with the 2021 recommended budget.

 

Body

The County Board of Supervisors of the County of Milwaukee does ordain as follows:

 

SECTION 1. Section 47.32 (c) of the General Ordinances of Milwaukee County is hereby amended as follows:

 

(a)                     Any changes to admission charges at the Mitchell Park Conservatory shall be approved by the county board. Current fees will be published in the adopted county budget each year.

(b)                     Except as provided in subsection (d) hereof, the following fees shall be charged for admission to the county zoo: The admission fee shall be sixteen dollars and seventy five cents ($16.75) for nonresident adults, thirteen dollars and seventy five cents ($13.75) for nonresident children twelve (12) years of age or younger, fifteen dollars ($15.00) for county resident adults, twelve dollars ($12.00) for county resident children twelve (12) years of age or younger, fifteen dollars and seventy five cents ($15.75) for nonresident senior citizens and fourteen dollars ($14.00) for county resident senior citizens presenting an older adult I.D. card, or other valid, legal form of identification, twelve dollars and seventy five cents ($12.75) for nonresident education adult, twelve dollars ($12.00) for county resident education adult, nine dollars and seventy five cents ($9.75) for nonresident education junior, nine dollars ($9.00) for county resident education junior, twelve dollars and seventy five cents ($12.75) for nonresident group adult, twelve dollars and seventy five cents ($12.75) for county resident group adult, nine dollars and seventy five cents ($9.75) for nonresident group junior, nine dollars and seventy five cents ($9.75) for county resident group junior. The above fees apply from June 1 April 1 through October 31. From November 1 through March 31, the following fees shall be charged: fourteen dollars and twenty five cents ($14.25) for nonresident adults, eleven dollars and twenty five cents ($11.25) for nonresident juniors, twelve dollars and fifty cents ($12.50) for Count resident adults, nine dollars and fifty cents ($9.50) for county resident juniors,  twelve dollars and seventy five cents ($12.75) for nonresident senior citizens and eleven dollars ($11.00) for county resident senior citizens presenting an older adult I.D. card, or other valid, legal form of identification. The admission fee shall be ten dollars and fifty cents ($10.50) for adults and eight dollars ($8.00) for children every Wednesday of each month for county residents, except holidays. Admission fees are waived for county residents on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. There will be one (1) free day per month for both county and non-county residents, from January through March, and in October, November, and December. In all instances, parking fees will continue to be charged.

(c)                     Except as provided in subsection (c) hereof, the following fees shall be charged for parking at the county zoo parking lot: twelve dollars ($12.00) fifteen dollars ($15.00) per car at all times when the zoo is open to the general public; sixteen dollars ($16.00) twenty dollars ($20.00) per bus whenever the zoo is open to the general public; five dollars ($5.00) per car charged for zoological society sponsored private events held at the zoo during the evening.

(d)                     The zoo director is authorized to waive admission and bus parking charges for handicapped groups, county educational groups and members of the Zoological Society of Milwaukee County, including spouses and minor children.
