Title
From the Director, Department of Human Resources, requesting authorization to retroactively extend the Temporary Assignment to a Higher Classification (TAHC) for Stefanie Erickson who previously served in the position of Contract Services Coordinator in the Behavioral Health Division, Department of Health and Human Services, until it was filled on January 23, 2012.

Body

Issue

A request is being made to seek a retroactive extension of the Temporary Assignment to a Higher Classification (TAHC) for Ms. Stefanie Erickson, who previously served in the position of Contract Services Coordinator, until it was filled on January 23, 2012.

Background

Ms. Erickson served in a TAHC for the position of Contract Services Coordinator since March 7, 2011, per the approval of the Interim Director of Human Resources at that time. Due to the transition within the Behavioral Health Division's (BHD) human resources area, this TAHC was inadvertently never requested for additional extensions, which is why we are returning to the Board now to rectify the situation.
Recommendation

Ms. Erickson performed key functions for the BHD - Community Services Branch for a significant amount of time, including maintaining over $15 million in community based service contracts. I am asking that the attached resolution be referred to the Personnel Committee and the County Board for approval to retroactively extend Ms. Erickson's TAHC.
